Sabrina Heglund started her professional career as a dental assistant in Edmonton. She studied dental hygiene at the University of Alberta and then progressed to her bachelor’s degree in Dental Science at the University of British Columbia. Her Master’s in Health Studies degree was earned through Athabasca University. Shortly after, Sabrina was enrolled at Trident University International in California for course work with a residency at the University of Alberta for her doctoral project studying human salivary interactions with oral dental plaque biofilm, where she earned her PhD in Health Science with a specialty in International Education and Research. Sabrina has retired from clinical practice and has published several journal articles and also made presentations to a variety of audiences focusing on lifelong learning, dental health associations with systemic health, mental health, and communication across generations and cultures. Her folksy manner of presenting information has been sought out over the years of her long professional career.
